The mistake is the spark.
It describes a wandering, a non-linear wandering. And it is located precisely in this error,
pleasantly indefinite, the roar that gives voice to the works of Donato Mariano.
Unlike the mistake that would seem to give us an instant inadvertence, it is systematic.
And allowing himself to be led by that error, the investigation that the artist carries out on the relationship between digital space and material space is systematic.
The mistake is the gush.
The place Donato Mariano invites us to enter is a vast elsewhere. A swirling wave of lumps and color flows from the walls to (re)break on them. Incessant drops, source of misunderstanding, which now become waves and move matter, invest us, drag us.
The error is paralysis.
Bombardment of images and colour, incessant accumulation of information. I explode. The spectator is prey to his works, to their soft textures. Serpentine geometries and image elements intertwine and unravel in space. A space that places us face to face with illusory escape routes that make manifest, upon attentive glances, the reticular system that now envelops all our experiences.
