La mostra I STAND HERE AGAINST YOU – The Invisible Materiality of Borders, ospitata al Castello del Valentino il 31 ottobre e il 3 novembre, presenta la ricerca fotografica di Laura Villa Baroncelli sull’ambiguità delle frontiere contemporanee, che oggi si manifestano attraverso dispositivi tecnologici distribuiti e infrastrutture spesso invisibili. In dialogo con questa ricerca, una selezione di lavori sviluppati dagli studenti del corso di Art Direction Design 2025 esplora i confini invisibili della città di Torino, rivelando barriere sottili, soglie ambigue e forme di deterrenza che incidono sui nostri movimenti e sulla percezione dello spazio urbano.

L’esposizione è realizzata in collaborazione con il Dipartimento di Architettura e Design del Politecnico di Torino. Il progetto di ricerca è sostenuto da Strategia Fotografia 2024, promosso dalla Direzione Generale Creatività Contemporanea del Ministero della Cultura.

The exhibition I STAND HERE AGAINST YOU – The Invisible Materiality of Borders, hosted at Castello del Valentino on October 31 and November 3, presents Laura Villa Baroncelli’s photographic research on the ambiguity of contemporary borders, which today manifest through distributed technological devices and often invisible infrastructures. In dialogue with this research, a selection of works developed by students from the Art Direction Design 2025 course explores the invisible borders of the city of Turin, revealing subtle barriers, ambiguous thresholds, and forms of deterrence that shape our movements and our perception of urban space.

The exhibition is organized in collaboration with the Department of Architecture and Design at the Politecnico di Torino. The research project is supported by Strategia Fotografia 2024, promoted by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Italian Ministry of Culture.
