Flashback Art Fair è una manifestazione dedicata all’arte di tutti i tempi che vede legati cultura e mercato in un’unica equazione, finalizzata alla formazione di senso critico. È un progetto che nasce per offrire una diversa visione sulla storia dell’arte e sulla storia di oggi che, rinnovandosi di anno in anno, connette zone temporali diverse: l’antico, il moderno e il contemporaneo.
“Questa edizione della fiera è importantissima perché rende ancora più esplicito il nostro operare. Con la nascita di Habitat la fiera si inserisce inequivocabilmente all’interno di un più ampio programma dedicato all’arte e alla vita. Flashback funziona come attivatore, il nostro obiettivo è quello di rivivificare l’esistente, siano esse opere, luoghi o persone. Opere antiche, inedite, trascurate, persone ai margini, periferie fisiche e mentali, luoghi dimenticati. Con questa edizione speriamo che il grande pubblico comprenda il nostro agire ed entri a far parte del nostro ecosistema condividendo tali obiettivi così da poter partecipare alla loro realizzazione”.

Il titolo di questa edizione è Metamemoria, l’undicesimo capitolo del racconto di Flashback che mette in luce efficaci strumenti per vivere il nostro presente attraverso l’arte. In neuroscienza, la metamemoria è quella capacità introspettiva che permette all’essere umano di valutare e monitorare la propria reminiscenza, dalla quale dipende l’identità personale e la consapevolezza di ciò che ci appartiene. Immagini, nozioni e sensazioni vengono riprodotte nella mente e ricollocate nel tempo e nello spazio, costruendo così il bagaglio culturale personale dal quale possiamo attingere quotidianamente. Più si è abili nel testare la propria capacità mnemonica, più si riesce a migliorare la memoria prospettica: programmare un’azione e metterla in atto quando serve, in ogni momento della vita quotidiana.
Flashback Art Fair is an event dedicated to the art of all times which sees culture and market linked in a single equation, aimed at training critical thinking. It is a project created to offer a different vision of the history of art and the history of today which, renewing itself from year to year, connects different temporal zones: the ancient, the modern and the contemporary.

The title of this edition is Metamemoria, the eleventh chapter of the Flashback story which highlights effective tools for living our present through art. In neuroscience, metamemory is that introspective ability that allows human beings to evaluate and monitor their own reminiscence, on which personal identity and awareness of what belongs to us depends. Images, notions and sensations are reproduced in the mind and relocated in time and space, thus building the personal cultural baggage from which we can draw on a daily basis. The more skilled you are at testing your mnemonic capacity, the more you are able to improve your prospective memory: planning an action and implementing it when needed, in every moment of daily life.
